Mmm...food...

I had a bit of a middle-easern dinner. It's like...couscous salad, with chopped almonds, mint, dried apricots, and toppd with a bit of lamb. Sound weird, but it's really good once you try it.

It's been hamburgers and hotdogs, hamburgers and hotdogs, so I decided to go meatless. Don't look Jaime! I peeled, quartered, and cored a pineapple, and put it in a Ziploc bag with maybe three or four tablespoons of clover honey, a half teaspoon of vanilla extract, and a teeny pinch of cinnamon. While that macerated, I lit the charcoal grill. When the coals were ready, I wiped the grill with butter and put the pineapple slabs on. Five minutes to a side, but you have to babysit this, the sugar will burn. As it cooked, I poured the honey/pineapple juice from the bag over it. Ta-dah!

Too late, I already looked. At least that doesn't include actual veggies, so I guess it can't be too bad, although I think some ham might go well with it.

I had a couple cheeseburgers and homemade fries over at a friends house after I fixed a little wiring issue for them.

I went to my favorite Indian restaurant and had some garlic naan, along with the seafood (mussels, tiger shrimp, and swordfish) curry. Yummm!  :icon_dribble:

I made battered chicken strips and shells w/ cheese.  I managed to screw up the batter though so they weren't nearly as good as when I made them last week, but I guess they were edible...

I use a flour dredge and fry in Crisco, batters can be tricky. There should be a dry surface for the batter to cling to, or it can fall off when the food produces steam. Hugs, Devlyn

First time ever baking fried chicken (thigh), and a side of brown rice.

Not too bad for a rookie (who can read and follow a cookbook!  ;) )
