Erm, i'm being totally honest here, but i think you look super cute and totally pass in my eyes. Smiling or not. Seriously how does smiling help you pass?

But be careful, smiling can be addictive and could lead to feeling happy and confident and even worse, you might start laughing and/or giggling and worst of all you may start having a good time talking and joking around with people and then and then and then... Arrrrrgh you are born into euphoria!!!

I've had a smile pretty much plastered to my face for almost 4 months now. It's a camera thing, I see one and almost instantly frown or hide. Working on breaking that habit. But thank you so much for the kind words.

My first thoughts were, smile and brows.

Those you have addressed... Next I am going for....

light contouring and generally - make up.

Also hair. It needs style. There is a difference between men and women wearing long hair.

@Emily The face shape is very good from the front.

Of course you will need to handle hair. Loss of top hair (maybe a wig or some extension, topper, whatever), and the lower hair (beard). Then probably you will be fine. The older we get, the easier become "passing", because we just need to "blend" with women of our age (which are very various in shape-sizes). For a teen is very difficult to pass because girls in their teens are... girls in their teens

I'd say amen to what Marina offered and add that the eyebrows need some work, there are excellent eyebrow tutorials on the internet that show you how to trim and shape them, you may have to use a pencil to extend them outwards. Then the little crows foot over the nose and corner of the eye can be botoxed or filled with collagen. We all get those, mine was much worse where I caught a grenade fragment in the chops long ago, but it's amazing what can be done to fix these things. You may just decide to mow the hair and get a few nice wigs later, I should do that too, but I'm procrastinating. Go for it Emily, don't let anything discourage you!

I think you need to tone down on the blush, unless you were going for the china doll look. I'm no expert, but I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that that's too much.

Also, there's something off about the wig, but I'm not sure what it is...

I do think you could pass with a bit of work, though.

To me, I cant see any make up on but I believe that if you put foundation on, covered up the blemishes on your face, had eyeliner on and had longer hair, you would do just fine. If this is your face pre-HRT, even more so.

I haven't yet started HRT so that will hopefully make a few changes to my face, as for foundation, I'm not too keen on using it. I have tried it but I don't really like the feeling on my face. I think if I were to use makeup then it would be most likely just some mascara/eyeliner.

I will hopefully begin some laser hair removal soon too, as I know the stubble really does look odd when you're trying to be pretty xD

I wish I could find this long blonde wig we used to have in my house, so I could see if my face would look more feminine if it were framed with a different style/length.

The lower one with you in the red shirt/avatar your looking very feminine and cute to me Emily. Sort of remind me of an Aunt I have. Your coming along nicely, I am sure once you get your hair grown out a bit more and styled you shouldn't have much trouble at all being passable IMO.

It looks like the camera resting on something low? Raise it up to chest to eye height or so... it will give you a more true-to-life look in terms of proportions.

Well, regarding your silhouette and the general impression the picture conveys you look just fine. However, without a clearer pic I can't give any more detailed opinion.

You might or might not pass, but without a better picture I can't tell for sure. But for what it's worth, I don't think anyone would give a second glance if you showed them this picture.
