Okey, time for a reality check, no synthetic hair or other accessories, just me coming home from work.

About 6 weeks on blockers and 2 on E.

(I've starting writing this about 3 times, looked at the picture and discarded the post, this time I'm going to push the button)

you'll be alright just let the E do its job

Hi Antonia;

You look really greast. Here are some suggestions:
1. Go to a Beauty Therapist/Beautician and get them to tint your eyelashes. I suggest Blue Black. That will increase the definition and dramatically improve your look
2. Also get your eyebrows tinted. I suggest a medium brown - Ask them not to overdo it, but again it will help with the definition. Also get them to make them into more of a feminine curve. Personally I suggest getting the beautician to do it (they will wax it from beneath (never from above) also making sure their are no hairs in between the two eyes
3. Use a Lip pencil and outline your pout and put soft pink lipstick on, but use a brush to put on the lipstick as your infill, then add lipstick gloss.
4. You could o with a little bronzer/tint either side of your nose sand beneath your jaw line to accentuate your features
5. I love the earrings, but you might want to wear some small hoops or more dangling earings. This will add to your overall feminine look.

By the way you don't need as wig!

Hugs

Antonia, you have great checkbooks, no beard shadow, and a hairline that makes me jealous. Stephanie is right, give it some time. HRT will probably do quite a bit for you and your hair will grow out.  Then get a good feminine hairstyle and passing shouldn't be an issue

Okay... so here goes nothing!

I can definitely see potential.  :) You have age on your side for a good transition.

Thanks for the feedback!

I think it's just the light but my eylashes are actually quite dark (almost black), so are my eyebrows, I wonder if the Google images autotune thing messed it up.
I've been meaning to go get my brows done by a professional, then hopefully I'll be able to maintain them by plucking, not that I don't pluck them now but the shape could be better.
Thanks for the comments on the hair, I've been meaning to throw the wig away as a symbolic guesture, I still wear if it I go out for a night on the town, at some point I'll need to get an interim haircut and get rid of the rug.

I'm hoping a couple more months on HRT, more laser and a hairstyle will do the trick, and hopefully the boob fairy will pay me a visit :)

Ehhh...I guess pre-HRT girls like me get lower priority here :( which I guess is understandable, since there's not much we can do except wait for hormones to do their work. Still, I'd like to know if there's anything I can do to pass for the time being, since I really want to go full time soon, but am still a little unsure about how passable I am.

While you wait for your hormones there are many things you could do.This isn't an exhaustive list but certainly things that if worked on would help with passing :

  • If your voice needs work you could practise feminising it; it's not likely to change via HRT so you may as well get the practise in.
  • You could work on the style of clothes you are going to be wearing; don't necessarily have to buy anything yet, but you could get an idea of the types of clothes you like - start a scrap book of ideas for future reference either an actual book or something like pinterest.
  • Another thing you could do is practise deportment, study how cis-women carry themselves and mimic their behaviour patterns.
  • If you have short hair start to grow it out, so that it can be styled in a fem way when longer.
  • You might also want to look at options for facial hair removal, it is unlikely to just all fall out.

Well, I do most of that. My voice is getting there (though it still needs work), my clothes are fairly androgynous at this point, my hair is at a decent passable length, and I shave pretty much daily. I'm just not sure if I pass having done all that.

In all honesty River your close to passing. When I see photo's of you that are full length you remind me of one of my cis girlfriends who's African American. Just keep doing what your doing. The scrapbook Leila mentioned is a good idea for future outfits and shoes (I'll never have enough shoes, you prolly won't either, lol!). Also you could practice working with makeup. Check out some you tube video's on makeup tutorials. You'll get there it just takes time. I know all too well how hard waiting to start hrt is. This last time I waited for over 4 years. Keep your chin up  and remain positive. The rest will come in time.

I second this....or third it.. whatever. :P Especially the voice training. I've always had a tendency to sing along with female vocalists, especially sopranos. Unfortunately, due to years of smoking, my register isn't what it used to be. Luckily, though, I never had a super deep voice. If you do it's still very possible to change that. Either way, it's all about practice. What I've been doing is slowly speaking higher and higher around my peers so they barely notice. If you want some quality pro training I suggest checking out http://genderlife.com/voicetutor

The interval approach I'm doing with my voice I also do with my clothing as I slowly move further away from my old wardrobe and into the one that best fits my personality. I'm very much a "tomboy", though, so really I'm just switching from men's versions of things to women's. But there's some very dressy stuff I like, too. Check out the fashion by Ovate. Dark, flowing and mysterious. There's nothing like bringing a sense of mystique into a room and attracting some interesting comments and conversations.

As someone who has been around women all of my life — family and friends — I think I've already incorporated into my gait a feminine vibe. My mother always said I was very feminine and thought I'd turn out to be gay. Well, I'm quite attracted to women, so... turns out she was right! Just not the way she expected. :P She's already given me a pair of her jeans. Now it's time to go shopping!

Since I was 25 I just shaved my head, but now I'm growing it out. I have an atrocious receding hairline, though, so I'm hoping some long hair will hide that. Plus, when the HRT starts (ugh, still not there yet) I really hope it grows some of it back. Electrolysis on my face and neck will begin a few months after I've been on the 'mones. All in good time. As much as we want to rush it we have to just be patient and go with the flow.

Another tip is to start playing with makeup. It's very important (in my opinion) to put emphasis on either the eyes or the lips, but not both at the same time. I always get compliments on my eyes, so that's what I'll accentuate more. Once I've gotten a pretty nice outfit I'll post a pic here, cos I constantly worry that I'll look awful. I know that passing isn't the end-all of transition, but it's certainly close.

Based on that picture of your beautiful face, I would rate you 95-100% female looking. You really are pretty.

Just Ole Me

#1036
Ok so this is me:
http://s1371.photobucket.com
I've been on HRT for 3 months at a low dosage. Endo just doubled my E a few weeks ago as my E level was at 50pgml so I'm hoping it kicks into gear.
I'm early 40s
I'm 5'11" big hands and size 11 male shoe sized feet. :(
260lbs but now on HRT I'm not depressed so I can lose weight. I will get back just under 200lbs by spring
Right now the only surgery on my near horizon is rhinoplasty as I hate my big nose
My hairline is receded but coming back nicely on HRT
Wife and I are still together and she is now fulling accepting.

So my question is.....is there any hope for me to look female eventually without major FFS?  I fear not but I know we can truly see ourselves.

Be brutal it's ok. I have a loving wife and family so I'm blessed in other ways so I won't jump off a cliff. :)

Hugs

Kay
Just trying to find comfort in this "shell" that doesn't fit.  But I am "remodeling" the shell finally!

Hard to tell without a side view, but so far you will do fine! Rhinoplasty yes would be my suggestion, but from this angle the brow ridge looks good. I am so glad you have support as it is so critical to success.  :)

Just Ole Me, I think you're quite harsh on yourself, but you've got quite soft features actually. Let hormones do their work, in the meantime you can lose weight as you mentioned if you want to, train your voice, get some decent clothes, learn about make-up and be productive in other ways
