I have been on HRT for ~1 year consisting of the usual transdermal Estradiol & oral Spironolactone.

I had read a lot about the potential benefits of adding progesterone to my regimen and asked my endo about it.

After much discussion I was able to receive an RX for medroxyprogesterone but was told I would not be able to get the micronized progesterone unless I had a bad reaction from the medroxyprogesterone.

I tried the medroxyprogesterone for 3 cycles that consisted of 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off.

During the first cycle I did notice a depressant impact but it wasn't huge or debilitating.

During the following two cycles I did NOT notice a measurable depressant effect.

I had read quite a bit about the potential benefits of micronized progesterone as compared to the medroxyprogesterone and was eventually able to get my endo to prescribe it to replace the medroxyprogesterone.

I tried the new micronized progesterone and only lasted 5 days before I had to stop.

I was heavily effected by an increasingly depressive effects that by day 5 had me unable to leave the house and missing work.

This is not normal for me at all, I haven't missed a day of work since starting HRT due to depression/gender dysphoria.

I stopped taking it on the 5th day and within 36 hours felt much much better, back to my former self.

So, I am wondering if anyone else has had similar results and wanted to post this as a warning to anyone else considering adding progesterone to their regimen.

I've been on medoxyprogesterone for 4 months and I'm happy with it. Haven't had any negative side affects.

Medroxyprogesterone did absolutely nothing for me to be honest... I started micronized progesterone, and have noticed a WORLD of difference.   It could be just my personal biology, but really my breasts have grown dramatically on it.  I'm post , been on hormones over a decade... recently micro-p in the last couple months.
