Congrats! I remember taking my first dose. I was flooded with emotion! I felt that I was finally able to start my physical change!

I've been on E for 7 weeks and have already seen positive changes. The spiro is the next bit. My doctor likes to ease into it. So far, so good.

Galyo, I hope you do get to start hormones soon, as you will feel physically and mentally knowing you are making progress.

That's great.  My doc did it the other way.  Spiro for 2 months first.  It took 3 days and I felt way better.  5-7 weeks into e injections I felt unbelievable.
I hope you enjoy your trip as much as I am.

How very fun and affirming to hear about so many of us starting HRT.  I recall about 8 months of euphoria when a smile was my constant companion after starting HRT.  I cannot know how much was the medication and how much was the essential sense of finally going publicly and privately in the right direction with my life.

All of you on this shared journey help make me happy today.  Go girls!

Supportive friends - That's what made me happy today.

I, Denise, went to a dinner party with my wife and everyone there was openly supportive.  Let's hope in private they are the same way.  I suspect they will be.

Tomorrow I have laser treatment #2.

I had to pop into the office today(Saturday) to quickly do some things but I decided that I will go as myself for a change. Wore a warm skirt and pantyhose with high heel wedge boots as my stiletto boots wouldn't have been practical in the snow.
Of course being weekend nobody should be there besides the janitor(who doesn't know me personally) but it was still exciting as some of my co-workers are known to work on weekends. I'm glad I didn't chicken out in the end as nothing happened, just did my thing and I was out of there. And I really don't care that all the security cameras in the building saw me :)

Fun isn't it?  I did the same a month ago.

Woo-hoo!  I got my prescription for HRT.  I'll be starting tomorrow!   :D

I was supposed to have one more appointment next week.  But the doc said that, in view of the long drive I have (1.5 hours each way) and the fact that it is January in Canada, why don't we combine this week's and next week's appointments into one?  Fine with me!  :)

So I'm done with the preliminaries.  I have my prescription.  I'll be visiting the pharmacy tomorrow to fill it.  Then, it's transition, here I come!

While reviewing the lab report on my baseline blood levels, she said that she normally tells her patients to reduce their triglycerides (I think that's what it was.  One of the cholesterol levels, anyway) to 2.0.  She tells them that no one goes under 2.0 based on lifestyle alone.  Well my level was 1.8!  Bwah-ha-ha!  She's going to have to revise her speil.

Two more small steps, one fun and the other great. First off, I had my first male fail yesterday, fun but they must have been blind. Second, my sister, the only one in the family that I truly love, now calls me her sister, wow! - Anne

At dinner with my wife and inlaws, waitress called me ma'am and my mother inlaw called me be by new name without ever mentioning it to her.

Cindy

My hair was down to my shoulders and I was very proud of it. Unfortunately the chemoradiotherapy stopped it growing and I lost a lot and now it is just below my ears. Recently I have noticed that the hair loss seems less.

I had my hair done today and my technician and stylist both said that I have new hair growth occurring!

I was very happy with that.

I am now burgundy with copper highlights, I think it is lovely!

I Am Jess

I've been told that I have formal loan approval for the house I am purchasing (subject to the VA appraisal).  The appraisal shouldn't be an issue because I am putting 25% down.  The VA loan rate I have locked in is 3.375%.  It looks like I may be able to close in a couple weeks maximum.  I am astounded at how everything has fallen into place on this transaction.  It hasn't even been 2 weeks since I made my offer and almost everything is complete.  It was almost 7 years ago that I was forced out of my last house by my ex-wife.  Her actions resulted in our losing almost $300,000 on that house and required me to rent for the last 7 years.  It will be nice to finally be back in a place that is mine.

Spending Money.  No, seriously.  I'm waiting on a SNAFU with anti-depressants to clear up, so I can get back my meds.  A little retail therapy goes a long way.
>:-)
Though, if you'd asked my yesterday, it would be that I spoke to a very nice lady on Wednesday.. and (barring the unforeseen) I should be able to start HRT in three weeks.  Eeeee!
