Yesterday I received my second referral letter for gcs and sent it into my surgeon's office. Today I got confirmation from their office that they have all they need prior to surgery currently September 12, 62 days away. This was my opportunity to experience "Happy crying upgrade" right in the middle of a restaurant during lunch. - Anne

I can totally relate to that! When I finally got all the last bits in, letters and final tests, I experienced such relief that crying came naturally. Then the Dr.'s office only gave me two weeks once the date was set. What a rush!

My package arrived from Old Navy. Going out of town tomorrow so would have been another 11 days before I got to open it if it didn't come today.

Everything fit great, the tall sizes are perfect! Just wish the stores carried them.

It made me happy today at work when they let me do a job at the pie factory I work at, that is normally done exclusively by women. In the same day however,I was insulted & hurt when a woman I work with unknowingly asked me to help her lift something heavy, and then told me she knew I could lift it cause I am a "manly man". I was so hurt by that, but didn't say anything cause I don't want to come out as trans at work yet. I've been on HRT for 4 months, but some people still see me as very masculine I guess. :'(

Hey Lois!
Don't be put down be this incident. That other employee probably didn't intend to hurt you. HRT does change some aspects of our face, but 4 months is not a lot yet and if you want to be seen as a woman, feminization must involve other aspects as well.

Are you already taking care of your beard? That makes a huge difference to how people perceive you - when you look at someone without beard of gray area, without considering other clues, you will most probably think "woman" or "male or female preteen".

Taking good routine care of your skin is also very important. I clean my face with cleansing milk 2 times a day and I apply a night cream and a day cream. This has made a big difference.

There are many other clues you may work on and which will facilitate been seeing as woman (or at least androgynous, certainly no "manly man").

Big hug and be brave! [emoji4]

It's Friday! And I had a good week! two big male files (no longer allowed in the mens room), talked with friend I have not heard from for a long time, sitting on Amtrak, watching the sun set and think "Life is good. Sarah is happy this moment"

Sarah.VanDistel Thanks so much for your advice. Its reassuring to know that someone else has had similar experiences and has came through it,and can relate to me. Yes the woman at work didn't mean anything by it,and she is a nice person to work with. She is just from a conservative rural area and is in her 50's,so probably has never though about or met someone who is transgender before.I am trying to gradually project more & more of my feminine side at work, and gradually change my appearance,so that many of them will be able to figure it out about me before I actually tell them and come out.

My therapist is now working on my letter to give to the docs to let me begin HRT! Woohoo! ^_^

I got called ma'am several times today.  It was the same gentlemen each time.  He was one of my residents, and he called me ma'am multiple times in the conversation that we had.  I don't think my natural voice is anywhere near passing but apparently, to an 80+ year old man, I have enough markers to pass as a woman.....at least to a person who is suffering from the ravages of age.....it felt good anyway.

Artesia, I've noticed that with older folks as well. I consistently correctly gendered by them long before younger people did. I have theories but no genuine idea why.
April 22, 2015, the day of my first face to face pass in gender neutral clothes and no makeup. It may be months to the next one, but I'm good with that!

Being transgender is just a phase. It hardly ever starts before conception and always ends promptly at death.

I would say that they, like children, see both the real world and the spirit world at the same time.  Even before starting HRT one of my residents told me I looked like a woman.

My Fitbit dashboard told me that I had over 118,000 steps last week and I had over 1,400 active minutes (i.e. Exercise). I hope I can keep this up.

When I was growing up I had a favourite Aunty who was always there for me, she always had my back. I don't know why but she herself never married and concentrated on her career. We kept touch and she was one of the few of my Aunties or Uncles that were able to fly to Australia for my wedding. So our relationship has always been very special.

Last year I sent out a heap of coming out letter to the family and she is one of the people who I never heard back from. My father told me she was fine with me and that she would email me soon...that was over 9 months ago and I really had given up on hearing from her.

30 minutes before walking out the door to have my face Zapped my Mobile goes and it is My Aunty ringing to see how I was and apologise about the emails. I couldn't help myself I burst into tears when I heard her voice then she was upset because she made me upset busy apologising and eventually we got ourselves back under control and chatted for about 30 minutes. She was so supportive and we chatted briefly about my childhood. It is clear that she had a good chat yesterday to my parents and some very specific questions for me, even so it was a real lift and made me very happy...hearing from her was like getting a gift completely "out of the blue"  :)

Thank you.  It is what I believe, but as with most beliefs I can't prove it.  My observations, however, seem to show that both the elderly and the very young, see things that are not visible to others.  So do pets.  Have you ever noticed a child, a dog, and/or a cat all looking at and following the same thing, and you couldn't see it?  One of my nieces had and "imaginary friend" who had the name of my deceased mother in law, and she had never met her, seen picture of her when she was young, or heard her real name; but her description of her friend was that of her when she was young.  My niece has since gotten to old to see her anymore.

Something sticking out of my chest made it tough to find a good sleeping position last night where nothing gets squished... A very nice subtle reminder of the body changes on HRT :-)
