What made me happy today? Laurie is feeling better.

Stephanie

Thank you Stephanie, it has been a has been a pretty good day. This evening hasn't been too bad either.

I was at the Philly Trans Health Conference today. I was walking around and realized I am a good way into my transition. I feel so much better and knew a bunch of people at the conference. I did not feel out of place when in community for the past 3 days. I felt really good.

I went off my diet and got a philly cheese with fried onions and ketchup. I went to the same vendor I went to last year. Last year he said thank you sir. This year he just said thank you. I never get sir when I buy things. I stopped at 711 the past three mornings and never go sir. Anytime I but something I never get Sir. WOW, that is huge and feels great.

That's awesome that you were able to show your wife more of who you are.

For me, my happy today story - I came out to a long time friend (27 years of friendship).  I spent 5 minutes saying I needed to talk about something without talking about anything.  Finally when I made it through that I blurted out something that had the words transgender and woman and me in there, probably in a non-grammatically correct order.

He just said, "That's what I thought you were going to say."  And he was very cool about it.  :)  He's not seen me dressed, I am very careful about trying to look fairly masculine in public and around him, etc, so I was really shocked, but equally it was really validating.  I also didn't lose him as a friend, which is awesome.

Just completed my first Triathlon! Wind,  rain and some hideous hills couldn't stop me,  and despite being misgendered by almost everyone,  I'm literally crying tears of happiness. [emoji23]

Megan, that's awesome.  I've always been impressed with those that can do triathlons.  My sister is one.  I am not.

On the other hand.  My scale told me I'm at 155.2 this morning.  That made me happy for sure.  I also met with another girl from Susan's last night for dinner.  We talked about being trans in public and damn if that didn't make me happy.  No stares, no weird looks, just normal trans girls in drab having a friendly dinner and conversation.

"She wants to know if you need to talk to her".   A coworker referring to me while on the phone.   They've all been pretty good with the name but not the  pronouns so very cool to hear that.

Megan, I will second that. I have always wanted to have that kind of endurance and drive but never made it past a 5k run. You really impress me, go girl!

At the end I promised myself I'd never do another,  and yet today I find myself already thinking about the next one. I need professional help lol.

Reconnected with a friend I haven't spoken to in 5 years. He was totally cool with my big news, and then we started chatting just like we'd never been apart!

I also have mixed results on pronouns. If it gets really bad, I just show up in a skirt for the next meeting :-) I am always happy to hear a "she" in calls...

I got pellets inserted today, no more e pills.  That made me scared and happy.  I'm mostly happy though;)

I have been waiting for quite some time to make this post, very much looking forward to it actually. I woke up this morning after having yesterday's surgery, with my body matching my soul, heart and mind. I can't verify it in a mirror yet but, "my name is Tia Anne and I am a woman!". Yay!!!!!!!!
