I want to find a bar to be a weekly regular as Bari Jo.  Even if it's just wearing makeup or carrying a purse.  I'd just like a place where the wait staff would treat me as a lady once a week.  I've got 4 weeks to find it!
you know how far the universe extends outward? i think i go inside just as deep.

10/11/18 - out to the whole world.  100% friends and family support.
11/6/17 - came out to sister, best day of my life
9/5/17 - formal diagnosis and stopping DIY in favor if prescribed HRT
6/18/17 - decided to stop fighting the trans beast, back on DIY.
Too many ups and downs, DIY, purges of self inbetween dates.
Age 10 - suppression and denial began
Age 8 - knew I was different

There are quite a few places in the Capitol District of downtown Seattle. You can tell where you are from the rainbow crosswalks.

Oops I misspoke.  Dawn, I'm right there with you in loving my Subaru.  I live in Orange County, CA, near Disneyland.  I'm still looking for my bar.  I want to find one where am older lady like myself can make small talk with the wait staff and just be accepted for a drink.  I'm not a lush, really:)

I was to a gay girls bar in Santa Anna but it's been a long time so I am not sure if it's still there. On the other hand, there is a gay bar or two up in Fullerton but again it's been probably about 10 year since my last visit. I don't know of anything in Anaheim as the place is for the most part a bedroom community. When I was there, I lived near Lincoln and Harbor so I was kind of in the center of things.

Back in the day there was the Warehouse, Santa Ana Clubhouse, Jezebels, Grand Hotel. We used to shop at White Front on harbor blvd. Now Target and eat at Belisle's. There was also a bar at Beach and Ball.

I found this on yelp. https://www.yelp.com/search?find_desc=Transgender+Bars&find_loc=Anaheim%2C+CA&ns=1

OMG, I actually live in Santa Ana.  I'm shocked that anybody knows this much about this town, and I don't. Thanks for the tips, you and Dena.  I'll go to one next week with my sister!

Oooh, Santa Ana.  My parents moved us there on the barrio side of town (5th and Euclid area) for some reason and I remember there being an amazing burger/Mexican food place called Cozy Corner.  Sorry random moment.

I'm not too familiar with that area, but the city has gone through a revival.  It's probably the hot spot for restaurants, art and nightlife for Orange County.  I've been here a decade and love it

Brai Jo - have you been to Hamburger Mary's in Long Beach?  It's a little bit of a drive for you but it's a fun place.

Nope haven't been.  I know they have tgirl nights every now and then.  It's just for if you are drinking.  There's a restaurant here that a support group goes to after the monthly meeting.  They have a bar, I may make it my bar.  This weekend I went to a beer garden as my celebration bar and three sets of neighbors were there.  I got some strange looks.  Maybe I'm beginning to show:)

I think it usually all starts with bar hopping, but eventually you find that one place where you fit in and it becomes like a second home to meet up with folks

I don't go out drinking anymore mostly because there aren't really any venues available where I live now and I can't really afford it anyway

But I use to love my old haunts in various parts of Calif. and a few other places

Probably one of my fav.s was a place called the "Arizona" in San Diego, the bar keep knew exactly what I was there for and would have it at the ready the moment I walked in

That's what I'm looking for. I want the wait staff to KNOW I am trans and am there to celebrate something.  I'll visit a couple places this weekend.  I am not a bar hopper, more a wall flower.  My idol for bars was always Richard Feynman, who organized his physics lectures while at bars.  That's the kind of social anti social person I am.
