All the kids and grandkids turned up at my daughters this morning, nice to see my youngest's 2. Bit of madness for a while! Presents delivered or so I thought till I got back home and found all the cards still on my table. Bl**dy cold messing my head up, now have to work out how to get them to them.

Mum has dropped them of at the ex's, she will see them. Crashed out on the sofa for an hour and feel better (for a while) . Did a daft thing, entered the countryman in a car show thats a few miles away. Its in April so need to see if I can get it running, they dont mind if its not finished which is a good job as I need lots of bits. Might have to trailer it, folks in the hot rod club have offered to help if I need a hand with anything.

Better today, still coughing up junk though. Chefing today, have salmon en cruet to make and cook for the starter (reheated tomorrow) ,pigs in blankets and stuffing bacon rolls to prep, veg to part cook, cauliflower cheese to make ready to go in the oven and the turkey to prep (butter under skin, onion and herbs in cavity and bacon on top) sat in tin ready to go in the oven in the morning. Good clean and tidy as well.

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

Well thats all done and dusted, had to have a rest after eating and only managed 1/2 of it. Mum took a load of food back with her and I think I have enough to last to next year!
My sister got me an apron and an apple corer, Eldest got me some sweets and a hamper full of goodies that when the contents are gone will look great in the back of the Hereford hot rod. Daughter had a photo of the grandkids made into a "snow dome", mmmmmmmm nothing from the youngest.

Looks like my cold/chest infection is going, slept well. Turkey cooked very well, as I tried carving it was just falling to pieces as all the bones just fell out! Tidy up and have a Jalfrezi to make using up the left over turkey. They were talking about a left over pie on the radio this morning, chuck all the left over veg cut up into small bits along with the meat and gravy in a dish and top with pastry. 20mins in the oven and serve up you Christmas pie!!
Well I hope my reader had a very good Christmas and are not to hungover today

That new chopping knife mum bought me for Christmas is super sharp, makes cutting up stuff easy. Yup just touched the blade chopping onion and cut my finger, just nicked it so nothing serious and its sealed up already. Jalfrezi cooked, at least 5 good meals worth!

Davina's ailment blog!!! I suffer from dry skin (my dad had eczema ) and get dry cracked heels. Had to fill the split in my left heel with snow fire (splits and cracks in hand treatment waxy paste) as it was painful to stand on. Hard to walk around just on the ball of your foot! Its working but I know it will take a few days to heal. Still blowing glue out my sinus and coughing up gunk but getting clearer. Hope to make it down the workshop tomorrow as given myself loads to do.

I suffer from dry skin as well. Tried every hand moisturizer, to no avail. This year my heals are all cracked and split. I've heard hard water can do this but we have yet to invest in a softener. Hope you feel better.

Still sorting out after Christmas! Making a pie filling to freeze to use up the turkey and veg and having a sort out in the kitchen. It has been very foggy the last few days but supposed to clear today. Overslept big time, 10am when I got up! Breathing still a bit tight but looks like its clearing at last so hope I feel okay to go to the workshop tomorrow. Not good for the diet but have pate, cheese, pickle and cracker assortment to use for lunch. Should not have bought the 3 small rounds of cheese but in Jumanji style cheese is my weakness. Talking of movies I watched West Side Story yesterday afternoon as it was on telly, what a classic. I do like a good musical, Singing in the Rain, South Pacific and all .

Do you have a big freezer?

No just a 4 drawer under the fridge, I have enough room for the big container if I move some stuff around. Steamed some carrot, potato, cauliflower and broccoli. Good handful of spinach in the container, hot veg on top to wilt it then left over white sauce and gravy topped off with chopped turkey. Should fit my big Pyrex oblong dish, roll of ready made pastry on top. That will last a few days.

Exploring the contents of big chest freezers can be like architectural digs.
Friends have said they have found dated packages really old as they dig out layers of frozen foods in their older relatives' freezers.

Hence if I ever get a freezer, it will be vertical for one thing for what I think would be easier use; but, I will not allow myself to keep anything more than a year old.  If I have not used it in a year, it will likely either be bad or I would not ever use it.
