Today, during a routine MRI, I swelled with the joy of being married to a trans woman. Nothing else would make me happier. I'm delighted to be spending every moment of every day being a trans advocate.
On our way there, we discussed the dangers of her presenting as a woman, as she was, and using any bathroom. We talked about recent events of cis women and immigrants being harrassed. She got the brilliant idea of sitting as close as possible to the receptionist so if anyone confronted her, she'd easily ask the receptionist whether the harrasser was a security guard. We understand that the employees at this medical center are thoroughly trained to welcome and support trans people.
My wife waited for me in the waiting room. Fortunately they had gender-neutral bathrooms. She said that no one paid any attention to her. Just what she was hoping for.
