Dogs. I don't understand the fascinating with cats on the internet. It's getting really old.

I have a 5 year old black/white labrador/collie crossbreed.

I prefer bigger dogs to smaller dogs too. I want a labrador or another boxer.

Cats. I like dogs too, but I'm allergic to them.

Both! I love (almost) all animals. Ideally I'd have a cat and two dogs (right now, my cat is buddies with my parents' dog).

And if you want a cat-dog... get a greyhound.

I just had to post this. It cracked me up.

Also, I'm definitely a dog person.

Dogs! :D When I was little I would curl up in front of the TV and rest my head on my dog like a big, fuzzy pillow. Dogs are the best.

I do think cats are awesome, but I'm very allergic to them.

Dogs all the way.  I'd love to like cats and have a nice one, but mine is seriously unfriendly, and they're like ungrateful teenagers, they come in, eat the food and then clear off again.  You stroke her at risk of losing blood.  My dog on the other hand is awesome, and a miracle.  Her and my girlfriend are the two people I'm really going to miss when I leave here.  Gonna teach my mum to use skype so I can still see her (the dog that is).

I love cats, they are little purring fluffy balls  :)
Mau? =ô.ô=
Platypus ^^
Whales are friends, do not eat them!

I like both but I think I'll get a cat in the end because I like silent company and prefer not to walk outside with them.

Before HRT and starting my own life I only was around dogs and I like them . Yet I wished I had a cat , they seem so different  .
Now , for about two weeks I got a little cat , yet I don't know , sometime it is such a difficult pet . The kitten being so young and full of life and the apartment being so small doesn't help either .  But we will deal with it , we still get to know each other .  Although sometimes I wish I just took a fish for company . :-\

Prefer cats but some of the larger 'cuddly' type of dogs are very nice aswell!

I like both, I lost my dog recently though. I miss him :(

I refuse to live in fear! Come hell or high water I will not back down! I will live my life!
But you have no life.
Ha. Even that won't stop me.

I will protect even those I hate, so long as it is right.

Really it's both for me, it depends mostly on the temperament of the animal itself.
I enjoy calm dogs who like to play and sweet, lovey cats who like to snuggle.

So I suppose it's all relative XD.

I've only ever had a cat, when I'm out walking I encounter many dogs and cats though, there's a black cat two doors down and I think we have struck up quite a friendship. Oh and there's a dog next door, I don't think one day goes by without me hearing it bark in their garden (though it's not annoying), seems nice though when I walk by his gate.

So I'd say I like them both in their own ways, they're quite different, cats are quieter generally I think, more independent certainly, and I'm quite quiet, and couple that with the fact I spent age 5-21 years old in the company of a cat daily, at a push I'd say 'cats'. :) (I guess my development into an adult must have been somewhat moulded with having a cat in the house.)

Uuuuuuuum. I was raised around cats. So I would have to go with cats. Especially Siamese. The siamese I have now is awesome. He bites my toes when he's hungry. He knocks stuff off book shelves and desks when he wants attention. He runs around like a Nascar driver and tries to assassinate me by trying to trip me up. He unrolls the toilette paper into the trash can. He runs under the stairs outside so I will chase after him (he always comes right to me). He starts "talking" at weird hours in the night.

I know I am not doing a very good job of convincing anyone to own a siamese cat, but he truly amuses me, and he cheers me up when I am down.

When I had my top surgery, he did not leave my side for a week. He even did this weird thing where he got on the back of the couch, pressed his face against the couch with his butt up in the air, and stared at me with his big blue eyes. I'm not really sure what to make of that. Was he propositioning me?

Cats.

There's less slobber and they have softer fur. :P (I love my dog too, though)

I really really shouldn't be picking favourites, seeing as I am (soon starting...) to study to become a vet, I mean I truly love all animals... But.... Cats are my choice, and I love my lil boy :3 (Not literally lil... The bugger's got quite fat over time.. hehehe.)
