Suppose a phalloplasty were offered to you for free, all risks associated with current medical technology still apply.

You would take it.
You would not take it.
You would do it even if you had to pay for it.
You would rather have a metaoidioplasty/centurion.
You think cosmetic surgery in general is a bad idea.

on another forum I am a part of there are quite a few people trying to dispel this myth. It is possible to retain feeling if the phallo is done correctly.

This is very true, and it's not just Prof Monstrey that does the new clitoral nerve hookup method Dr Ralph & his team on the NHS now offer this and it works amazingly well.

Phallo as a surgery has both pros and cons, but so far the only major con i have experienced would be the scarring on my arm, but how well that heals is purely down to the individual of course. Of course if you are lucky enough to have a PCT that will redirect your NHS funding to Ghent and Prof Monstrey's team you'll be able to benefit from the new arm/thigh phallo combo which has less obvious scarring and with all the pros of the nerve hookup, etc.

Unless phallo improves significantly over the next few years I wouldn't consider it. For me there are too many things that could go wrong with it. I've seen pictures of one which had to be removed-end result: no penis and unsightly arm and thigh scars. Even if it was successful I'm still not keen on the aesthetics of a phallo, it looks a bit too much like a raw sausage.

Although it does have its cons as well as its pros - a friend of mine who had the arm/thigh combo a couple of years ago says he would have had the arm only one if he had to start again - largely (I think) due to the difficulty of trying to heal 2 large areas at the same time.

Also, not everyone can have the arm/thigh combo - you need to have very little fat on your thighs for it to be possible. I had a consultation there last year, and was told I wasn't a suitable candidate for it.
